Dec 25th arrived at philly airport at 530 am check in smooth.
Flight delayed by over an hour
Of course everything now costs money seats are 15 dollars water is 2 dollars.
Landed at phoenix at 1124 local time instead of 10 am.ran to catch the connecting flight no 20 at the other end of the airport. Grabbed pizza hut pizza on the way. Got to the plane and of course they had to wait for all the other late flights too so we waited another ½ hour on the tarmac.
Arrived at Honolulu airport at 420 pm nice warm humid air greeted us as the doors opened. Had to wait about 30 min for luggage, it was a nice long walk to the baggage claim area.
Picked up a car at thrift small Chrysler avenger not too impressed with the drive.
Got a little lost getting to the double tree reception was nice but theycahrge to aprk the car.
Got 4 nice warm cookies. We freshened up and took a walk down kalakau “rodeo drive” of Hawaii.
The weather is great not too cool not too warm. Grabbed dinner at Subway at Hawaii prices. Visited a few of the ritzy stores “Prada, Louis Vitton etc.”
Extremely tired by the time we got back to the room, hit the sack. Aditya”s alarm woke us at 530am. We showered and drove down towards Pearl harbor. Stopping off at McDonalds for pancakes which we ate at the Ala Mauna Park. At Pearl Harbor we saw the long lines outside but the weather was so nice. A light breeze. We waited and entered the main building and got tickets for the 10 30 show so we had about an hour and a half to kill. Walked through the museum and saw the 10 30 show, a history of pearl harbor. Took the boat to the Arizona memorial very somber and impressive.
It was already noon by the time we got back to the hotel time to check out. We drove to Diamond head the crater nice views. Had lunch on Waikiki beach and headed to the airport to catch a flight to Kuai. The flight was an hour late.
Met Shank at kuai airport and drove to the Hilton Beach resort. Though the hotel is on the beach waves round here are rough so no swimming here.
Dec 27th finally hooking up to the internet today’ Breakfast at the Hilton then took the car and drove the island up route 50 to Opaeke fall s plenty of water here. Drove up the coast stopping at beaches and saw wind surfers’ upto the iight house. Shank says he saw 2 whales off the coast I missed it. Driving down we hit major traffic took 2 hrs to make 10 miles then round the coast to the Grand canyon of Hawaii waimea canyon. The solors are vivid with a lot of greenery.only missing the Colorado river.
Drove down to Jo jos for shaved ice and to the spout horn where the water from the sea rushed through holes in the lava rock, reminded me of the spout in Australia. We hit Poipu beach for the sunset and a resting monk seal very exciting because they are endangered.
Back to the3 hotel to rest up for tomorrow.

Christmas Eve

Have to work the night before I`m ready to fly.
US air at 7 am from philly.
connecting through phoenix onto Oahu.
